Bradfordsville, an eastern Marion county town, grew up on Rolling Fork around the mill of Peter Bradford sometime around 1780. The town was known as Centerville, because of its proximity to the center of the state, and Bradford's Mill. Bradfordsville was established in 1835 and incorporated in 1860. The Bradfordsville post office opened in 1834. The population in 2010 was 294.
