Carrsville is a Livingston county city on the Ohio River about 16 miles north of Smithland. It was established in the early nineteenth century and became an important river landing. The name comes from Billy Karr, local store owner, and the site became known as Karrs or Carrs Landing. Carrsville was incorporated in 1860. The Carrsville post office opened in 1854. The population in 2010 was 50.
