Fort Thomas is a Campbell county city on the east of Newport and overlooking the Ohio River. The site of Civil War fortifications and the later Fort Thomas, the city was incorporated in 1914, encompassing an area known as the Highlands District and including Fort Thomas, Guyville, and Dale. The population of Fort Thomas in 2010 was 16,325.
