Harrisonville is a southeastern Shelby county town on KY 395. It was founded in 1825 as Connersville (the source of the name is obscure), renamed Harrisonville, probably for William H. Harrison, in 1839, and incorporated in 1847. The Harrisonville post office opened in 1839 and closed in 1908.
