Hyattsville was a Garrard county community about two miles east of Lancaster. It was a station on the Richmond Branch of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, which operated from 1868 to 1933. The name comes from the local Hiatt family. The Hyattsville post office opened in 1869 and closed in 1917.
