McRoberts, Kentucky
McRoberts is a Letcher county community located on Wrights Fork about 10 miles northeast of Whitesburg. It was established in 1912 by the Consolidation Coal Corporation and named for Samuel McRoberts, a banker with ties to the company. The population peaked near the mid-twentieth century at about 2,000. The McRoberts post office opened in 1912. The population in 2010 was 784.
