Mooresville is a Washington county community about nine miles northwest of Springfield. It grew around Henry B. Moore's distillery in the nineteenth century.

The Mooresville post office operated from 1874 to 1906.

The Beech Fork or Mooresville covered bridge was north of Mooresville off KY 458 at Beech Fork.
