Visalia is a Kenton county town on the Licking River about twelve miles south of Covington. It was named for Nathaniel Vise who settled in the area about 1800. Visalia was the seat of Campbell county from 1823 to 1824, when it was moved to Newport.

Visalia was incorporated in 1869 and dissolved in 2008.

The Visalia post office opened in 1826.

The population in 2000, before dissolution, was 111.
