Spurlington was a Taylor county community about five miles northeast of Campbellsville. It was a station on the Louisville and Nashville Railroad and named for a local family. Nearby is the Spurlington Tunnel through Muldraugh Hill. Completed about 1874 for the railroad, it is now abandoned. The Spurlington post office opened in 1880 and has since closed.
