Colby, Kentucky
Colby was a Clark county community on the old road between Lexington and Winchester, about five miles west of Winchester. It was named for Colby Taylor's tavern, which opened in 1822.
A Colbyville post office opened at the tavern in 1826 and closed circa 1852. A Fishback post office opened in 1852, possibly at the tavern or nearby, and closed in 1856. The Lexington and Big Sandy Railroad passed near the site some years later and a Colby Station post office operated there from 1890 to 1894.
