Elkin, Kentucky
Elkin was a Clark county community on Twomile Creek and the railroad about seven miles south of Winchester. The Elkin name comes from a local family. It was also known as Elkin Station on the railroad. The Elkin post office opened in 1886 and closed in 1926.
