Fredericktown is a western Washington county community on the Beech Fork about nine miles northwest of Springfield. The earliest settlement was known as Parker's Landing, established by 1784, and it was an important river port. In 1818 Frederick Hill chartered the town of Frederick's Burg, usually known as Fredericksburg.
The post office opened in 1828 as Fredericktown and operated until 1911.
