Milton is a

The origin of the name isn't known.
The town was chartered by Virginia in 1789 and was incorporated by Kentucky in 1846. An adjacent settlement called Kingston was incorporated into Milton in 1872.
The Milton post office opened in 1819.
The population in 2010 was 574.
