Ricetown, Kentucky
Ricetown is an Owsley county community on Indian Creek about eight miles south of Booneville. The post office was named Floyd for the son of the first postmaster, Joseph Baker, and it was renamed Ricetown for local merchant Harvey Rice. The community is usually known as Indian Creek.
The Floyd post office opened in 1901, was renamed Ricetown in 1905, and closed in 2005.
