Shelbyville, Kentucky
Shelbyville, the seat of Shelby county, was founded in 1792 and, like the county, named for Isaac Shelby. Shelbyville was incorporated in 1846. The Shelbyville post office opened in 1801. The population in 2010 was 14,045.
