Bandana is a Ballard county community about 11 miles north of Wickliffe. The area was settled by 1875 and was first known as Skillet. The origins of the names are not clear. Bandana was incorporated in 1890. The Bandana post office opened in 1880. The population of the Bandana census designated place in 2010 was 203.
