Carr Creek, Kentucky

Carr Creek is a Knott county community about 10 miles south of Hindman on Carr Creek Lake.

A Dirk post office opened in the vicinity circa 1920 and was renamed Carr Creek in 1928. It closed in 1975.

Carr Creek Lake, originally called Carr Fork Lake, was created when the Carr Fork was impounded in 1976. The lake covers about 521 acres. Along the lake are the Carr Creek Lake Wildlife Management Area and Carr Creek State Park.
