Copland, Kentucky
Copland is in Breathitt county on the North Fork of the Kentucky River about 12 miles south of Jackson. It was the location of the Copland Station on the railroad, which arrived circa 1912. The name comes from the local Cope family. The post office was called Saldee. The origin of that name is obscure.
The Saldee post office opened in 1919 and closed in 1994.
