Crescent Springs is a northwestern Kenton county city about three miles west of Covington. It was a station on the Cincinnati Southern Railway, circa 1890, and likely named for the Queen and Crescent Route, referring to the rail route between Cincinnati and New Orleans. Crescent Springs was incorporated in 1957. The Crescent Springs post office opened in 1891. The population of Crescent Springs in 2010 was 3,801.
