Firebrick is a Lewis county community on Indian Run near the Ohio River about 15 miles northeast of Vanceburg. Sometimes spelled Fire Brick, it was named for the local Kentucky Fire Brick Works, which manufactured fire brick from about 1890 into the twentieth century. It was later part of the Portsmouth and Kentucky Fire Brick Company.

The Firebrick post office opened in 1892 and closed in 2004.

Near Firebrick was the Ohio River Lock and Dam 31. Also known as the Kirkville Dam it was constructed circa 1915 and demolished circa 1964 after the completion of the Meldahl Locks and Dam. The upstream dam 30 was near Oliver and the downstream dam 32 was near Carrs.
