Hebron is a Boone county community about three miles north of Burlington. It was originally known as Briar Patch. The Hebron name comes from the Hebron Lutheran Church, established in 1854.

The Hebron post office opened in 1858.

The population of the Hebron census designated place in 2010 was 5,929.
