Ledbetter is a Livingston county town about eight miles southwest of Smithland on the peninsula between the Ohio and Tennessee Rivers. The Ledbetter post office opened in 1900. The population of the Ledbetter census designated place, which covers 5 square miles, was 1,683 in 2010.
