McBrayer, Kentucky

McBrayer is an Anderson county commmunity about five miles south of Lawrenceburg. Named for a local family, the site became known as McBrayer Station when the railroad arrived. There were mills nearby from an early date owned by the Rice, Hudgins, and Bond families.

The Sidney post office, which opened nearby in 1888, moved and became McBrayer in 1889, and closed in 1917.

The Four Roses Distillery, built in 1910, is located at McBrayer on Bonds Mill Road.
