McCarr, Kentucky

McCarr is a Pike county community on Tug Fork about 33 miles northeast of Pikeville. It may have been named for someone associated with an early twentieth century coal company that had mines in the area. The McCarr post office opened in 1907. The population of the McCarr census designated place was 164 in 2010.
