Royville, Kentucky
Royville is a Russell county community just northwest of Russell Springs and about eight miles northwest of Jamestown. There were Roy families in the area early in the nineteenth century. The 1951 incorporation was apparently to prevent annexation by nearby Russell Springs. It was named for John Roy who owned the local store. It is often called Roysville.
Royville was incorporated in 1951, but was dissolved, probably before 1980.
The Roy's Store post office opened in 1854 and closed in 1855.
The population in 1960 was 295.
