Smith Town, Kentucky

Smith Town is a McCreary county community about two miles southwest of Whitley City. The name comes from a local family and is sometimes spelled as one word: Smithtown. Smith Town has never been incorporated, but it qualifies as an unincorporated urban place under Kentucky law. The Smith Town post office opened in 1922 and closed in 1976.
