Summer Shade, Kentucky

Summer Shade is a Metcalfe county community about eight miles southwest of Edmonton at the head of Glover Creek. The community was originally known as Glover Creek, but was later named Summer Shade. Summer Shade was incorporated in 1876, but was later dissolved. The Glover Creek post office opened in 1862 and was renamed Summer Shade in 1878. The population of the Summer Shade census designated place in 2010 was 307.
