Coiltown, Kentucky
Coiltown is a Hopkins county community about ten miles west of Madisonville. It was established in 1902 by W. D. Coil who established the Rose Creek Coal Company the same year. He lived in Coiltown until 1910 when he returned to Madisonville. He also was president of the Coil Coal Company and the Sunset Coal Company and was involved in several other businesses in the county.
Coiltown never had a post office.
