Haddix, Kentucky

Haddix is in Breathitt county on the North Fork of the Kentucky River at the mouth of Troublesome Creek about six miles southeast of Jackson. It was named for the Haddix family who settled in the area circa 1792. The railroad arrived circa 1911. There was coal mining in the area beginning in the nineteenth century.

The Haddix post office opened in 1916 and closed in 1994.

Troublesome Creek begins to the southeast at Hindman.
