Sorgho, Kentucky
Sorgho is a Daviess county community about eight miles west of Owensboro. It was settled in the early nineteenth century and was originally known as Dogtown. The name Sorgho comes from sorghum processing that took place there during the nineteenth century.
The Sorghotown post office operated from 1869 to 1883 and the Sorgho post office operated from 1883 to 1918.
