Tarr, Kentucky

Tarr is in Bourbon county on the Millersburg Road about five miles northeast of Paris. It was the site of William Tarr's farm. Tarr was born in Paris in 1825 and started out as a farmer. He established William Tarr and Company, with partners, to operate the old Ashland Distillery in Lexington in 1871. He became one of the owners of the Kentucky Union Railroad in 1873. Tarr died in 1911.
