Westwood is a Boyd county community,a suburb on the northwest of Ashland, about seven miles northwest of Catlettsburg. The source of the name is obscure. It was developed beginning circa 1920 and has never been incorporated. Westwood has never had a post office. The population of the Westwood census designated place in 2010 was 4,746.
