Lost City, Kentucky

Lost City is in Logan county about seven miles north of Russellville and about two miles east of Lewisburg. It is the site of more than 60 mounds built by Native Americans that have been dated to about 900 to 1650 C.E. It was excavated in 1929 by archaeologists from the University of Kentucky. For a few years after 1936 it was operated as a tourist attraction.
